Can a Republican win without trashing immigrants in the process?

What ever happened to campaigning on a positive message instead of saying what you will not do, doesn't it make more sense to tell the public what you will do?  Everyone knows the President is extremely limited on the steps they can take to reform the immigration laws.  The extent of their flexibility only applies to enforcement priorities. It's up to congress to do the rest.  Honestly I don't think it's fair to expect any president can to much to enact immigration laws.  If we really want immigration reform, it must come from congress, and congress, has not been in a mood to deal with immigration for at least 15 years, and there is no end in sight.  http://dailycaller.com/2015/05/21/the-anti-immigration-fixation-is-it-really-necessary-for-2016-contenders/
