Many people apply for marriage green cards. However, some people may try to immigrate with an inauthentic marriage. To help ensure a marriage is authentic, couples may have to go through a marriage green card interview. 

During a green card marriage interview, you may be asked many personal questions about your relationship with your spouse. Here are some questions that you may be expected to answer: 

Talk about yourself, your spouse and your marriage

The interviewer may ask questions about your background. Some of these questions may include:

  • Why do you want to immigrate to the U.S.?
  • What type of employment do you have or plan to seek?
  • How is your relationship with your family?
